Help Keep the Peer Support Connection Warmline Open

For years, the Peer Support Connection Warmline has been a lifeline for people across Minnesota who need someone to talk to during difficult moments. For many callers, this is the only place they feel heard during the long overnight hours when other supports are closed.

Every evening and through the overnight hours, trained peers answer calls and texts from individuals who may be feeling alone, overwhelmed, or in need of support.

Today, we want to share an important update with our community.

The Warmline is at Risk

Due to the loss of our primary Warmline funding, Wellness in the Woods may be faced with the difficult decision of closing the Warmline at the end of the calendar year if we are unable to secure alternative funding.

This service is more than a phone line. It is a place where people are heard, understood, and supported by peers who have walked similar paths.

Many callers reach out during moments when other resources are unavailable, and for some, this connection makes all the difference.

We are committed to doing everything we can to keep this service available, and we need the community’s help.

Why This Matters

The Warmline offers free, confidential peer support to people who need connection, understanding, and encouragement.

When someone reaches out, they are met by a real person with lived experience—someone who can listen without judgment and offer support grounded in empathy.

This kind of support matters. It helps people feel less alone. It helps people get through hard moments. And it fills an important gap when other services may not be available.

The Moments When the Warmline Matters Most

Every night, people across Minnesota reach out to the Peer Support Connection Warmline during some of the most difficult moments of their lives.

Callers share fears about losing housing or benefits. They call while grieving the death of a parent or partner. Some are managing serious medical conditions like cancer while navigating isolation and uncertainty. Others are working through anxiety, trauma, or the stress of caring for aging family members.

Many callers simply need someone to listen. Some call because they are feeling overwhelmed or alone. Others call because they are trying to get through a hard night without returning to substance use or spiraling deeper into depression.

In these moments, the Warmline provides something powerful and simple: a real person who understands. A trained peer who can listen without judgment, offer encouragement, and remind someone that they are not alone.

For many callers, that connection is enough to help them get through the night.
